Nationwide credit card offers best customer satisfaction, survey shows

Wed, 05 Jul 2006

Nationwide customers are the most satisfied with their credit card, according to a survey.

The company's credit card came on top in six of the nine categories, in the study conducted by uSwitch.

However, Barclaycard has the lowest proportion of satisfied credit card customers, with 66 per cent.

Nick White, head of personal finance at uSwitch, said: "It is no surprise to see Nationwide doing so well in a survey of this nature.

For some time now they have positioned themselves as a champion of banking consumers’ interests, campaigning on issues ranging from ATM fees to the order of repayments on credit cards and fees for customers who use their credit card abroad.

He adds that Nationwide are "practising what they preach" and looking after their customers

However, the seven largest credit card issuers all came out as offering the lowest customer satisfaction, Mr White states.

uSwitch describes itself as a free, impartial online and phone based comparison and switching service, allowing its customers to compare prices on a range of services including personal finance products such as banking, credit cards and personal loans.
