Islamic banking hits the road

Mon, 03 Apr 2006

Islamic banking will come into focus once again when Lloyds TSB Islamic Financial Services brings its road show to Glasgow.

The event, which is due to take place on Monday April 10th 2006, will highlight the benefits of the bank's Islamic current account.

The account is aimed at fulfilling the banking needs of the UK's two million Muslims, for whom interest is forbidden.

It is available from more than 30 branches of Lloyds TSB.

The road show event is one in a series that will be taking place across the country over the next few months.

It is hoped that they will give an insight into Islamic banking and the associated banking products available from Lloyds TSB.

"Islamic banking is only just beginning in the UK but Lloyds TSB is proud to be playing its part in making these services available to more people across the country," comments Paul Sherrin, head of Lloyds TSB Islamic Financial Services.

He says the road shows will not only showcase the Islamic banking products and services available, but will also give consumers the opportunity to tell representatives what they want from their banking products.
